MY STORY
Hello there, my name is Madi!
I always knew my purpose in life was to help people, especially those suffering. My professional journey began with a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and a heavy focus on the neurobiology of mental illness and abnormal psychology. This led me to complete my training as a Registered Nurse where I specialize in work in the Emergency Room, supporting those in the scariest moments of physical and mental health crises. While working as an ER nurse, I also worked as a psychiatric, corrections and clinical research nurse. Through my experiences in ER, psych, corrections and clinical research, I realized there was more I could do to help, so I pursued specialized training and became certified as a Nurse Coach.
A Nurse Coach is a newer role in health care that describes a registered nurse who has invested additional time and energy into obtaining extra training, education, practice, and certification in developing the skills to provide holistic and scientific-based health and wellness coaching, beyond their original nursing school training. Nurse coaches are a unique and distinct breed of nurses completely focused on enhancing the health and well-being of their clients, patients and communities, with a major emphasis on facilitating the client’s growth and healing.
I became a Nurse Coach because I love helping people who are going through stress and pain and feel they cannot find their way out of the darkness. As a survivor of complex trauma (C-PTSD) from abuse of many kinds as well as my own journey with health issues, I have grappled with darkness for most of my life. While I have been lucky to have had the support and treatment from skilled professionals, for a long time, I had to go at my attempts and coping and healing alone. I never want anyone to feel alone in their struggles, and through connection with others who understand what you are going through, healing becomes a bit easier.
Mental health dramatically affects physical health, but I have seen firsthand the huge disconnect in the medical field in this regard. Healing is not a one-size-fits-all and knowing where to even begin can be daunting. But that’s where I come in! I want to help lead people to wellness by helping them through their mental strife and in turn improving their physical health. I believe one of the most beautiful things in the world is watching the light come on in someone’s eyes after they have been lost in the dark for so long. I find joy in sharing the knowledge I have acquired personally and professionally to aid individuals in finding mental clarity and peace.
My main objective with nurse coaching is to help people find their light at the end of the tunnel. I will forever have my hand extended and arms open to those in need. I want to support people as they navigate the dark waters of life knowing they have someone that truly understands what they are going through. I want individuals to feel seen and understood, as they figure out the wisdom and truth for their journey within themselves.
I truly believe all anyone wants in life is to feel seen and I want you to know I see you!
“My desire is to help you find the change you need rather than finding ways to change you.”
